 St Barnabas  congregation welcomes you !

Hello and Welcome !!

St Barnabas Church is  on the corner of Allerton Road and Penny Lane  (location map) in South Liverpool and guess what? Not only can we see most of the sights mentioned in the Beatles’ song “Penny Lane” from our doorways, but Paul McCartney also sang in our choir when he was a youngster. Not only that, but Paul’s brother Mike McCartney married Rowena in our church and Paul was there as Mike’s best man along with his much-loved wife Linda.

  We love our church and we love the Beatles so we thought we’d celebrate this August Bank Holiday Weekend with a special Beatles Festival throughout the whole 3 days, including:

• An exhibition of rare Beatles photographs over the 3 days (kindly provided by the Liverpool Echo)  
• Old Archive photographs and maps of  the South Liverpool area
• Photographs of places associated with the Beatles in Liverpool
• There will be a sing song followed by a quiz (Beatles themed) at 7.30pm on Saturday 23^rd August
• There will be a Beatles themed church service at 3pm on Sunday 24^th August. Normal Church Services will take place at other times, click here for information

Entrance to all of these events is FREE

We’ll also be serving light refreshments during the 3 days. So come and meet us, have a chat and let us show you round our church and our exhibition. 

Opening times as follows:

Saturday the 23^rd August from 10am until 10pm

Sunday the 24^th August from 2pm until 5pm

Monday the 25^th August from 11am until 4pm
