Lighted prayer candles for Madeleine McCann

Madeleine McCann is a 4 year old child who was abducted from her family's holiday apartment in Portugal. On May 15th, 2007 St Barnabas Parish Church, Penny Lane, Mossley Hill held a parishioner prayer vigil to pray for the safe return of Madeleine.

The following is taken from the prayer sheet given out at the service:

Jesus said, " Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened "( St Matthew 7.7- 8)

We pray together for:

Madeleine's safety and speedy return
Her parents, Gerry and Kate and grandparents Brian and Sue (living locally) in their distress
The Portuguese Police and all involved in the search.

Please stay as long as you are able, and leave whenever you need to. If you would like to light a candle for Madeleine, please make your way to the front of the church.
